A New Design for Twitter?

Yes, it’s true, Twitter now has a new design that is currently only being seen by 1% of its 160 million users. The new design is supposed to be more user friendly, and users will be able to interact with the site on a much higher level. Don’t worry, you will not be losing your familiar and personalized backgrounds, and the core functionality will remain the same.

Some of the changes that some users may not like are:

  • The new twitter platform still does not support multiple users.
  • Replying to multiple users is now more challenging. Each “reply” will pull up each individuals tweet box. Nevertheless, if you don’t mind, then it is not that bad.

With the new Twitter, all categories of answers for your search box will continue to appear with some additional new features:

  • The ability to save a search is more noticeable, and the filtering options have changed.
  • Promoted Tweets will continue to come above all other answers.
  • Retweets are easier to shut off.
  • The top editorial picks from Twitter’s algorithm will continue to be offered.
  • Users will now be able to keep scrolling down to get more answers for the latest results their search top.

The old Twitter searches that users deliberately saved would have been saved on the right side of the page and under the old search box. Now, with the new Twitter searches, users can easily save their searches with the new and improved drop-down box.

You might also want to look at adjusting your right column profile color, since it takes up more space. The right column color is much bigger now and your direct messages are up in your navigation, which is much more streamlined.

So, is the new and improved Twitter worth your while? Time will tell and new improvements are still on the way. It’s a give and take at the moment, and there are definitely some things that will improve your experience of Twitter. For now, we’ll just need to wait and see.
